The Playground allows you to create a copy of your Magnifi file so you can test different assumptions or scenarios without affecting your live data.
Use the Playground when you want to:
Test alternative budget or forecast assumptions.
Model “what-if” scenarios for pricing, capacity, or costs when you need a more detailed analysis than the What-If Analysis feature provides.
Compare projected results in a duplicate file before manually applying changes to your live version.
Save a copy of a file before making significant changes. For example, you can save a Profit and Loss budget as “Original Budget”, but the Playground lets you duplicate the entire file.
Go to Playground from the main menu.
Click Create Copy.
Magnifi will duplicate your current file, including all projections, divisions, and setup data.
The copied file will appear in your list of Playground files in the top menu bar.
Use the File drop-down at the top of the page to move between your Original File and any Playground Copy.
Make independent changes in the Playground without affecting your live data.
The Playground view displays a Profit and Loss Comparison between the original file and the Playground file.
Review the variances to see how your scenario impacts income, expenses, and profit.
Can I create more than one Playground file?
Yes. You can create multiple copies to test different scenarios (for example, Higher Wages, New Office, or Original Budget).
Can I delete a Playground file?
Yes. Select the file and choose Delete Copy when you no longer need it.
Does the Playground affect my live results?
No. All changes remain isolated within the Playground until you manually apply them to your main file
